Never thought about that. How about having a piece of plexiglass cut to fit?

I have a Q: Is anyone else's spare tire screw just a little too tall and poke a hole through the fiber board? Mine does and I thought it was a bad sign, like maybe it was aftermarket cause it has been rearended, but I checked out another mustang and it was the same.

Mine has the same poking out thing going on. I think it happened after I used the spare, probably not put back properly.

yeah i guess. looks like there is only one way to hook it up but who knows. mine looked like it had never been touched but was def poking through the board. honestly why did they make the screw so tall in the first place? you have to screw that thing in forever just to get it back on. maybe they planned on it having a full size spare or two temp tires. ha!

Very cheap aspect of our cars IMO...a nice latching plastic trunk floor would have been really, really nice. I'm all the time having to fish that wooden POS out from under those little plastic tabs that are supposed to hold it up. They do a better job of holding it down once it slips under them than they do holding it up on top...Figuring out a way to improve this feature would be a great project.

Mine's busted through, too, but it happened while I was laying in the trunk wiring up the subwoofer. Sigh.

just buy some el cheapo carpet that matches the trunk. get a piece of fiberboard plywood ($10 maybe) and cut it to fit.

glue the el cheapo carpet down. cost about $30 max to make a new board
