WTF, ANOTHER GREAT IDEA
Here's another great idea that I'm going to ignore, bash away.

I've been doing 5,000 oil changes on this car since I got it - I figure that if Ford, who has to warranty the engine says that is good then it probably is.
And the oil change places - who are in the business of selling me more oil - are probably pushing the 3,000 change for a different reason from Ford.
And if you think that 5,000 is too long, I have 191,200 on this engine with no problems. I race it on the weekends, had nitrous on it for two seasons and put the Xcharger on at 90,000 miles.
I've been stretching the interval recently since Blackstone Labs said my oil tests showed that it could go out further, and have been doing 7,500 the last 3 oil changes.

I don't see how this is dumb. Newer cars don't need 3k oil changes, especially with full synthetics. I think this is a great add campaign. I get so irritated when my friends follow that sticker that Jiffy Lube puts on their windshield. I wish they would launch a nationwide campaign to get people to step their intervals back a bit. It will save the consumer some money.
