Decided to risk the no front plate option.

technically the law doesn't state that the plates have to be on the bumper. it only says it has to be visible from the front and rear of the vehicle. i have an 07 gt/cs with no front plates. i keep my extra plate in between my seat and console if i need to throw it on the dash real quick. i've been pulled over many times and questioned about the plates but never a ticket.
"How Many License Plates Am I Required To Display?
State law requires that you display two (2) license plates, one to the front and one to the rear. Placement or mounting of license plates is not defined."

FWIW, it doesn't mean you won't get pulled over or get a ticket. But you do have a good chance of getting the ticket dismissed if you choose to fight it in court.

Once I had my front bumper installed I was hoping not to install the front plate.. But coming on the Fort they check and are real strict. I wouldn't risk it.. I also say put the plate back on..

I have never had anyone check for a front plate at a gate They do look for expired tags and tell you to get new ones.

You have the bracket there, use it and avoid the possibility of getting pulled over for it at an inopportune time.
I drive about 70% with them on and 30% with them not on. But I know when they are on, and I'm not exceeding any speed limits, I know there are no reasons to get pulled over.
