This has been removed by myself, Young_Gun, in protest.

You got raped! You can buy a new computer through tousley ford for $550. It's actually $650, because there's a $100 core charge. http://www.tousleyfordparts.com/part...&component=ECM

You might be able to send them your old one and get that refunded.

I've heard of it before, but I think it was a last ditch effort by the dealer. In other words, they threw every part at it first, then decided it was the computer.

I actually didnt get raped...the mechanic, who is a friend of my bro's even told me he paid 550 for the computer..said he had to pay someone to program it I think , then add his labour, so 950 isn't over the top

It should come pre-programmed from ford, but even if it didn't, it can't be more than $80 to flash it. So install was $300? That's rape! There are three quick disconnects and maybe one bolt to remove. My wife could swap a pcm in 5 minutes.

Now you didn't say that. Still $550 for a USED computer? A new one costs the same, wtf?

He said a new one was about 1200 , so I don't know where he got that price from...he IS known as a mechanic who doesn't rip people off. I'm in B.C. Canada , so maybe prices are different here ??

Maybe there is a difference in price, but in the good ol' USA your cornhole would still be bleedin from the rapin u just took. A reflash from a dealer is 80 bucks and I know this for a fact. And $300 for his time?? REALLY? Yeah, it's a couple of hinged connectors (3 I believe) and a couple of bolts that you remove then pull the part out and put the new one in. It seriously should take anybody with minimal mechanical skills 10 minutes to do.

You got screwed.

Then I read your post again and saw he replaced the spark plugs. NOW I'm good with it. The plugs on the 05's and 06's are notorious for carbon build up and breaking off in the head due to a junk 2 piece design.

Next time maybe mention that in your original post. Lastly, you shouldnt be comin on here and telling ppl to **** off when you're the newb.
