Yes, they are 18s. I just looked in an old thread that I knew I had posted the correct info in.

Referring to the BF Goodrich KDW's, would 285/35ZR18/XL fit? I don't know what 35ZR stands for.

Then you can put 285/40 on the rears and it will be fine. I have 255/45 up front on 8.5` rims. Those rims are nice, no need to change them.

I am unclear on this, so please don't laugh if it's a dumb question. Is it okay to buy 2 of the 285/40 bf goodrich kdw's and keep the same tires up front?

Yes those are the tires I have. I am not sure if they make them in a 40 anymore. Yes you can mount them on your rims and yes its ok to have your current size on your fronts. That is exactly the same size I have on my fronts. Its referred to as a staggered setup.
Think of it this way, 285 refers to the width of the tire. 40 ( or 45 or 35 etc..) refers to the amount of rubber between the rim and the road. The lower the number the more "low profile" the tire is. And of course 18 refers to the rim size.

..and the "Z" of the "ZR" bit there means the speed rating of the tire.

gotcha! There are a lot of tires out there that fit the bill. i'm hoping that the tire guy can hook me up since i know him and his family.
