New best 1/4 with pilot super sports
#11
I've spun all of first gear, at a track, and still managed a 2.3 60 foot time. The accelerometer based units can be accurate, but everything has to be perfect, flat road, etc.
It costs $25 to make as many passes as you like, do it.
The trap speed seems high as well, but that's probably the least accurate part of it. It's never going to be able to perfectly judge a 1/4 of a mile like a laser beam.
You also need to secure the device very well, assuming you're using a smart phone, don't just lay it on the seat.

It was the 3rd run i did in 10 mins, both the others were a bit worse, but better than my previous best.
Some day i will go to a 1/4 mile track, the local track here is 1/8th mile, the closest 1/4 is ~40 miles away and this bridge is literally 1 mile from my house.
