Exclamation Any help is appreciated errors p0016 &0012

I have a 2006 mustang gt stock no mods current mileage is 76000. Situation is that I am currently having issues with engine and am not sure as to the cause.
Issues started out when I was getting on the highway from work, as I was accelerating on the on ramp I hit a bump where you round the corner at and after that moment the check engine light started flashing. It was at that moment that I noticed that my car was chugging, limping, on to the highway. Confused I attenpted to acclerate but it would respond correctly. I was about 6 miles from home and cruzed slow home, so many annoyed people behind me
At home I hoped on the internet and started researching possible causes. People where listing codes that they got off their vehicles from tuners. So I travled down to autozone to get a scaner/tuner to read the error code. when found that I had misfires in cylinders 3 and 4 and error code P0016 camshaft position sensor. Well searched the internet for an answer and decided to chage the spark plugs. last tune up was awhile agoooo.
Found that fords design for their spark plug is stupid and worse the tool to remove them over a $100. .
well now this is where I am at; spark plugs changed reset system and though the error codes for the misfires are gone errors p0016 & p0012 still remain and the idle on the vehicle is bad and I don't dare drive it now for fear it'll do more damge. So understanding that there has to be someone out there that has been or knows someone who has been in this same sitiuation.

I currently believe that the timing is off, possibly chain skipped a tooth on the cam? though I have read that you might want to start at the basic and work your way up to the more complicated. I'm just looking towards an answer that will help and some light shed on this problem.

thank for your help.

http://www.obd-codes.com/p0012 and http://www.obd-codes.com/p0016 will give you information that may help you out. If you read down each page, you will get a lot of ideas and ways to check the problems. I do believe you have a cam sensor problem. Good luck.

P0012 "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded
P0016 Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation

http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=10&viewfile=Diagnostic%20Trouble%20Code%20(DT C)%20Charts%20and%20Descriptions.pdf

Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor? Or Camshaft position sensor? Possibly the harness or a wire on either? All I got, sure someone will chime in with something better later..

P0012 possible causes:
Camshaft timing improperly set
Continuous oil flow to the VCT piston chamber
VCT solenoid valve stuck open
Camshaft advance mechanism binding (VCT unit)

P0016 possible causes:
Worn timing chain tensioner
Worn timing chain tensioner arm
Loose timing chain
