Default Coolant leak issue

Well. this past week has been quite a pain in trying to figure out what's causing this leak. I've replaced the water pump and that didn't help and it seems the leak is coming from around that area. When I start the car up it starts leaking like no tomorrow, I noticed that the fan doesn't kick in like it should, I have to add coolant/water for it to start up and once it does the leaking stops. Any ideas on what could be causing this? I've searched and searched on here and haven't come across a problem like this.

I think the 05-06's have a plastic housing cover, yes? First place to look anyhow.

Yea, I've been seeing alot of that coming up in the searches I've done. I'm just not sure if that'd be whats causing this since it only happens when the fan isn't on.

Not sure obviously, but that makes perfect sense to me. Warped/cracked, extra pressure when thermostat isn't open fully, or it's not being otherwise cooled... Think it, and a new 0-ring might set you back a total of $30..

does it happen when you turn it off? = boil over / fan or clogged radiator
while its running? = gasket somewhere

How can you NOT tell where coolant is leaking? I don't get it.

V6 & coolant leak and I'll place my bet on the T-stat housing, too.

Thermostat housing. Quick and easy fix actually if you don't have an Xcharger blocking the bolt. Takes less than a half hour on a stock set up.

Well, took me all of 10 minutes to tear it all apart... 99.9999% sure this is the culprit

That crustiness around the seams is the sign of the leak. That is what happens. The 'welded' seam splits open.
