2005 gt convertable
yo lads newby from sweden here.
need some advice on buying a stang gt..i have looked at 5 so far 4 have been the v6 model..i really want a v8 for obvious reasons..i have found one here in sweden for 170 000sek around 20k usd..

it's gone 66 000 miles...is this too much for a 2005 model..are there any things i need to look at? are they reliable? is manual better than auto?

66k miles is decent, especially for a 2005 out of the USA. As long as it's been well taken care of, it shouldn't be much of an issue.
There are TSB stickies to look through, especially since 2005 is the introductory year for the s197. One of the major things to look through is the water leak issue.. first thing to come to mind.
As for manual vs auto, it's down to your driving style and wants and needs. The auto will rate a little lower on HP than a manual due to conversion but it's neither here nor there as it all goes back to what you want to drive.
I have a 2006 and haven't had many issues at all except for general maintenance. The battery can be iffy if you still have the stock one. That's about the only major work I had to do.
Otherwise black on black looks pretty slick.
Price wise, it's expensive and over priced if sold in the US but being in Sweden, you probably don't have many choices...

thanks for your reply dude..yeah things cost a lot here ofc.where is the water leak on these models?
are the gearboxes reliable? how about the clutch? there hydraulic right.
any info for a layman like me is well recieved.

cheers xkape...the **** selling it tells me the original owner in the us was a fussy feker..hopefully it's what i'm looking for..i have tried 2 v6 models so far
