Question Please help. Shaker 500 not working right, all stock too

The past couple months ive had a problem with when im listening to music all the sudden all the bass goes away and sounds like its losing all its power. If i turn it off and on sometimes it will start working again and only does it sometimes but its been happening alot and sometimes i cant get it to work again. Does anyone know why its doing this? i dont think it sounds like a fuse. I tried google and no help there and i really want to try and fix it myself instead of the dealership. Thanks

Not trying to be funny or anything but its because the Shaker 500 is a piece of crap... There is many documented issues on here and all over the internet with issues like that with the Shaker 500.

Yeah my Shaker 500 would turn on every time I would open the driver door.
Kept trying to shuffle CD's. Got a CD ERROR message. Wasn't even a CD in it.
The AM/FM & LINE IN still works, but no CD player. I just listen to Ipod anyways.
I hooked up a kill switch to get rid of the opening door issue and to protect
my battery just in case it turned on in the middle of the night.
Good sounding stereo IMO, but they do have some weird issues.

You might look in the audio area for some more help on this.

Sounds like a weird gremlin. So if you literally power off the radio, then turn it back on, the subs work? If so, it sounds like a head-unit issue. IMO I'd just think about replacing it with something aftermarket since it's easy enough to do yourself.

Brings me to thinking about the fact that if the shaker 500 dies in the new 2010+...you're just SOL without spending tons of cash on a metra dash kit and double din receiver.

I guess I'm the only one that likes his Shaker 500. 106K trouble free miles with mine.
