Damn, just gave myself a paint chip
Just like the title says, I just chipped my paint. The driver door got a little away from me and tapped a brick divider wall. The chip is on the outer most point in the middle of the door.
Anybody have tips for fixing this?
I was looking at the kit for paintscratch.com and Dr. Colorchip. Anybody have any experience with or suggestions as to which is better?
Paintscratch is a little pricey but looks like they address the fact that my paint is the tri-coat red candy paint on my 2011 GT.
Irritated that I let it happen in the first place, paint was perfect beforehand

My son dropped a golf-club on my hood...used paintscratch. Applied the primer, followed by numerous coats of the paint and polished the bump out with a credit card wrapped in micro-fiber, and Klasse AIO polish. Have to really look to see it...

Chip
Dr. Colorchip, hands down.
Have used it on several chips on the leading edge of my 07 Redfire and they are not visible. Also used it on some scratches left by spectators at shows I've entered. The "Look but don't touch" signs apparently dont work. Have a kit for my wife's Outback and another for my Dodge minivan. Stuff works.

Chip
You ckean the chip/scratch area, apply the Dr Colorchip paint and wait a few minutes, smear it off, let it set and use their sealact blending solution to blend it in with the paint. Real easy. I'd guess you'd call it a single stage. There's no primer involved.
Pull up their web site and watch their vidio. It really is easy.

Has anybody tried applying the paint in the cold?
It is slightly cold out in Michigan this time of year and wondering if it'll still work right.
