Why does he want your v6? Imho that sounds a little fishy plus cash ontop of it. For him he would be downgrading for a v6 so it would rasie a question of is something wrong with his GT that you cant see from just a simple test drive? Accident, oil leak, ect?

thing is i dont wanna spend any more on my v6..gone as far as i want..i get a gt in my favourite colour i can go as far as i wish..sc ect...the magnaflows sound very nice..am i right in saying the coupe handles way better than a vert? this beast was rock solid compaired to my vert..the vert suffers with shudder when going over pot holes.

If hes a small time dealer then by trading in your car plus giving 5 grand in cash i feel like he would be making out really well considering your v6 has very low mileage. He'll probably try and sell your v6 for 10-12k to somebody plus your extra 5k you gave him he makes out really well. How much is he asking for the GT? You might be better off selling your v6 to somebody else then trading it to him

It's hard to say what the market is like where you are but in the US your '07 car would be worth as much or more than his '05 mainly because of the super low miles on yours. I wouldn't offer more than $1000 on top of your '07.

+1

He's getting a low mileage and newer vehicle, despite it being a V6, for that '05. If the '05 suffers from the chronic water leak and the stepper motor issues in the instrument cluster, then absolutely walk away. If not, then even offering $1k is a stretch. I think it's a bit silly to pay $4k more just for a color.

'05 GT's in the states are going for $9k to $13k.

That's a hard call on all of this, I know how hard it is to find a Mustang in Europe. It's not a dime a dozen car like it is over here in the states. So the price difference is huge even on the older models.

Have you considered looking over in Germany? You tend to find a bit more Mustangs over there.

But as for the car in question something about that deal does seem odd to me. Keep in mind that is the first generation of the S197 body style. They were prone to water leaks around the door seals. If it's rained recently check the passenger and drive side floor pans and see if the carpet feels damp.

Stripes can be removed quite easy if they are vinyl, shame you wife does not like them. Mustangs like their stripes.

Not just no, but HELL NO. Tell him to throw in some cash.

Love the car, but change the rims...

He should be paying you money. Even though yours is a v6, you have fewer miles and it is newer.

You say that mustangs are not too common over there, and that is why the price is high. Well that also means that your mustang is worth more over there than here in the states. After seening how clean your car is, I would not pay him a dime, equal trade or he pays you. IMHO

Maybe you could put your wheels from your V6 on the GT. Switch them out!
Check all of the gauges on the cluster and make sure they work properly. My RPM gauge is off by 150-250 RPM. My thermostat gauge only works when it is 60 degrees or warmer. The gas gauge sticks and is off sometimes by a 1/4 tank. The stepper motors are getting ready to go out, which is very common with the 05 model.
Check the e-brake and make sure it holds. Mine is not working well due to being stuck frozen during a bad ice storm a few years back.
Check and make sure there is no dampness or musty smell on the passenger side floor board. This would indicate that the car had the dreaded water leak, which can cause electrical issues.
