Aux Port

Aux Port
I know this has been said before but can anyone please tell me the best way to incorporate an aux port into my '06 Stang? It has the Shaker 500. I'm looking for the cleanest, easiest possible install. Maybe someone can link me to the product(s) I need. I don't mind if I have to put it in the center console or wherever, the FM transmitters suck.
What do you have to do? Take off the factory head unit and then what?
Thanks!

I figured that would be the easiest but I have no issue with the stock system for quality, just want to be able to play my iPod. Getting sick of the 10-year old CD routine.
Wouldn't it be cheapest to add an AUX port? An aftermarket system is going to easily be a few hundred.

You can get a double-din aftermarket HU for $130, which will likely sound better than the factory Shaker HU. Lots of threads about folks changing HU and improving the sound. You'll still need a couple of wiring harness adapters and the install kit, but you're left with much more versatility.

I started calling places and they all wanted over $100, some $150 to install an aux port.
Forget it.
I figured out PC Richards will install any deck over $130 for free, just have to pay for the install hardware. I found a nice deck for sale at PC Richards that has good reviews for $150, will charge and play my iPod, touch, and looks nice.
Looking at $200 with the install. Here's the deck:

If I sold my shaker 500 HU afterward, I'd get over $100 for it based on eBay. That means spending $90-100 for whole new HU to charge/play my iPod.
Better way to go. Thanks guys!

Here is the easiest way. I had one on my shaker 500 before I replaced it. You can find them on ebay for cheap.

comes with a harness that one end plugs into the factory harness and other end right into the back of the shaker. You can also control most devices through the shaker.
