Dude, have fun with your new car! Way to go on thinking financially and I hope you have fun!

At the end of the day there will always be someone faster, so as long as you're happy that's all that matters!

So weight, mass and inertia will effect your acceleration. 3.55 for auto, 3.73 for manual will help but will kill your milage. But it will still be better then a 5.0. 2.73 were put in stock for a reason, 31 mpg. So 3.31 will be better and keep you at around 24+ mpg.
Many a day in my 5.0 I would be happy with just 21 mpg.

You've got a tank with an engine best placed in the new 2015.
the way I drive my 4.6 I'd be happy to get 20 mpg

Where do people get this info? They weigh 3,453 lbs (2012) or 3501 (2014) with the manual trans, the 3.7 weighs about 330 lbs which makes the 3,7s the first factory Mustangs that are nearly perfectly balanced-front to rear.
"here is a quote from Motor Trend when the 3.7 came out ": 0 to 60 in 5.1 seconds and the quarter mile in 13.7 at 102.0 mph. The Hemi-powered 376-horse Dodge Challenger R/T isn't any quicker to 60 and is just a tenth ahead at the quarter. Moreover, the new 3.7 is nearly as quick as last year's V-8-powered GT, which put down 4.9 and 13.5 at 104.2. "

Yes it's "normal", but I understand it because you are a car guy, have the money, want more power and spend money on mods.. why didnt you get the "better" version to begin with?[/QUOTE]

To answer your question...........
I am a car guy, have been since my 1st Detroit Auto Ahow when I was 12 years old.

I had an Olds Cutlass I bought for $3,000 then sold it a few years later for a 1988 Mustang GT 5.0 with manual. It was White with porno red cloth interior. But where I lived (Northern Ohio) it snowed 6 months out of the year and it was my only car, so I sold it and got a 4x4 after 2 years of trying to drive it. Over the years, I have owned 14 different vehicles......and I am 38 now. I can afford any vehicle Ford has to offer and was pre-approved for a Shelby GT500. But, I have other financial obligations and would rather contribute to my retirement plan and make money in the stock market to retire in a few years vs spending $60,000 on a Mustang to drive back and forth to my Pharmacy and let it sit outside dodging carts 12 hours a day.

I would love to have a Porsche 911 Carrera (any kind) in Yellow (GELB) with a manual trans or the new PDK. But having it sit outside in a Pharmacy parking lot for 12 hours a day while I work scares me. So, this 2014 Mustang convertible with MCA pkg is a great choice for me. Its pretty fast, economical, looks hot, wont draw too much attention sitting in a parking lot for 12 hours and cost me roughly $29,000 after rebates/incentives/$750 coupon/Xplan. And I can make my monthly payment in ONE of my work shifts.

That is in no way correct, I've been driving my 2013 for about 3k Miles now, and even when I keep my foot out of the ground (Even though that's not often) I still average MAXIMUM of 18MPG City and 24ish Highway, No where near the V6 Numbers.

IF you go by rating they aren't far off

V6 MPG rating = 26 city/45 hwy/32 combined mpg (Automatic Coupe)

GT MPG rating = 24 city/36 hwy/28 combined mpg (Automatic Coupe)

how is that no where near the V6 numbers?
YES I know those numbers are based on California, constant throttle AND only doing 80kph (50mph) based on average speed limit which is why no one ever gets the sticker MPG

the only reason alot of GT owners get terrible MPG is cause it isnt exactly an easy task to not put your foot to the floor especially if you have thrown on a Performance or Race tune (whether 91 or 93)

I drive with a pretty heavy foot, that being said in the city I average 12.0-12.5 l/100km (roughly 19 mpg) and on highway with doing 125-130 km/h (around 80 mph) usually around 10.5 l/km (23 mpg) with my current mods.

one nobody buys mustang for the MPG however, for a car modded decently to pushing 450-460 BHP (dyno is next friday for RWHP actual numbers) the Coyote Engine gets pretty damn great mileage for basically having power on demand when ya feel like playing around and is NA and not FI.

Congrats on the New Mustang, At your age I bought my first New Dodge Dakota, nothing like getting a new vehicle on your own at that age. I had a V6 Premium up until a few weeks ago, got a 2014 GT Premium, give it time, you will be able to afford a GT, or even a Shelby in no time. Have fun and enjoy!
