American Muscle's Wheel/tire Packages
Has anyone here gotten one of these packages from them? Would like to hear from you on this. I do not know much about their Somitomo tires. I was thinking about going with this package. This seems like a great price.

Thanks for any input

I have those tires and they are great for the price. So much more grip than the OEM ones, even in the rain! They probably saved my car one rainy night when someone turned right in front of me. While I have never used some of the "higher end" tires like 555s I can say they are a big improvement over stock and pretty well priced at that.
I bought mine from AM but had them mounted locally.

I bought the black 2010 premium 18" wheels with sumitomo tires for my '07 GT, staggered... 9" in front, 10" in back, from AM. I was very pleased with the perfomance. The thing that I didnt like was the rear tires were 40s and the fronts were 45s and in my opinion looked stupid. There is no option to get 45s for the rear. The wheels were awesome and the tires were a bit stickier than the stock tires.

I am still not sure about going with staggered or same all around. I am big about rotating tires. But I have to agree with you, vixr. Having 45s in the front and 40s in the read does not make any sense to me.
Thanks

You're basically getting the rims for free.. Go to Tire Rack and price the tires.. and $100 for the install.. and it usually matches the package price..
I'm getting ready for a new set of tires somewhat soon.. Will probably do another package deal and keep these for autocrossing / road coarse play...

Upon further review it looks like AMs staggered pachages use 275/40 on the 10's and so the difference of about 1/5" in sidewall height may be noticeable.

45 and 40 are aspect ratios, it defines how tall the sidewall is compared to the tire width, so if you have 285/40, the sidewall height is 40% of 285mm, so 114mm or about 4.49", on a 255/45, the sidewall height is 45% of 255mm, so 114.75mm or about 4.52"... so you're telling me you can eyeball a difference of 3 hundredths of an inch?

I bought the Staggered Bullitt Black Wheel & Sumitomo Tire Kit - 19x8.5/10 (05-14 GT, V6) package from AM. I love them, great ride. I have to disagree with "VIXR" 99.9% of all expensive Sports cars come Standard with Larger Tires in the rear ( Staggered ) My 2012 Corvette Grand Sport has 12" wide stock tires in the rear. They look awesome. My Mustang has 10" wide tires. It makes a big, big difference in handling. They hook up much better too. The more rubber on the road the better traction you have.

[QUOTE=vixr;8277835]yeah...disagree all you want...I didn't say they weren't wider. I said they weren't as tall.[/QUOTE
"DANZCOOL" was correct in saying you can not tell a difference in how tall. By eyeballing it, it is no more then a 1/8 of a inch difference in size. Come on "VIXR there is no way you can see a difference. I would have been embarrassed to even say that. Your entitled to your opinion, I just said 99.9% of all expensive Sports Cars come this way, and most people like them and do not think they are stupid. Again you are entitled to your opinion and my post was directed to "DENCON" who was asking for input to all of us about Wheels and Tires and I just wanted to give him a opinion also. By the way you have a nice Stang, I LIKE IT.
Example: It's the angle of pic "VIXR"
This pic makes the front tire look much bigger then the rear.
This pic makes the rear look much bigger then the front.
