Default 2005 v6 mustang what can i do?

hey guys, im looking to make my car into a cobra clone, im not worried about whats under the hood im just trying to make it show room worhy, some things I would want to do under the hood just to make it sound really good. Can I put on 07-09 cobra parts on my 05 v6 coupe? like the springs. the throttle body cobra fascia things like that?

Roger that. Considering the shows that I've been to, a poser would be booed off the lot.

its funny, a local dealer around my area was trying to sell a 2004 gt that was labeled as a cobra. It had a 2.3 whipple on it and was in great condition so i took a ride to look at it. From the beginning i could tell it was a fake... The badges were off, the instrument cluster was that of a gt. i looked under and saw a SRA, rims werent from a cobra, etc. It was a total fake but someone who isnt knowledgeable could have walked in and bought something totally different from what they thought they were getting. I bet the dealer didnt even know.....

Oh my, my advise keep her as is and what shes supposed to be. Just do nice upgrades, just because its got a snake on it does not make it cool. But hey I am not even into Shelby Mustangs would rather go to a Saleen if I was to go a step up from a GT. But that's purely my 2 cents and may not even matter.

First - there is no S197 "cobra" so I assume you are talking about the Shelby GT500.

As far as making a clone, you can't put the throttle body on - round throttle body on your car and oval on the Shelby. And it wouldn't do you any good anyway. The springs of course will fit since there isn't any difference on the mounting, but your front end will ride high because of the lighter weight for your 4.0 compared to the 5.4.

The 2007-2009 Shelby GT500 mufflers are just the same muffler as used on the stock GT with an automatic, nothing magical about that. Ford went to the parts bin for a lot of things on the GT500 (like the side skirts, which are the same as found on the V6).

But mis-badging your car as a GT500 will simply get you ridicule from those who know the Mustang. Putting the fascia on without the snake badges or GT500 badges isn't going to get you flamed.
