Default When centering the rear axle with an ajustable panhard bar...

What is the easiest way to actually make sure the axle is centered? I actually thought about taping a string with a small bolt on the end (to act like a plumb bob) off my fender lip but couldn't find any string. Is there a more scientific method or what do you guys do?

not easy to get perfect
right u need to measure from the inner rear arch

when u adjust the bar u will then to move the car and check again..it wont give a proper reading otherwise.
when turning the bar to adjust only turn tiny ammounts otherwise you'll be miles off
took me about 8 hours work to get it mm perfect.
u cant just measure and set it with the car in the same position..you will never get it dead on..
tiny tiny adjustments on the bar and a and the bar will move a few mm's
good luck and be patient..the car will steer and handle better once perfectly aligned

A Plumb bob is just about perfect for this sort of thing. No reason to go high-tech if you don't need to (and I'm an avionics tech for the navy, I know a thing or two about high-tech)

You have to use something that allows you to adjust the rear axle under the body, and get as close to centered.

I know this sounds funny, but I've actually used credit cards and blue painters tape. Carefully tape the credit card to the flat surface of the rear fenders, making sure they hang low enough next to the tires to visually measure the distance while adjusting the panhard bar.
