How to black chrome my wheels
I was curios on how to make my wheels black chrome? (I have factory 18" bullet wheels)
any suggestions?
-also asked a mechanic shop that dips rims and said he could not do it but should have them powder coated or painted?
prices would be nice
and look like this

No idea on prices, but creations 'n chrome is one shop that should be able to do it.

Basically it's a paint system...

Thank you, I'll have to give them a call. The only hard thing is that I would have to dismount my wheels and send it to them, haha which would mean my Mustang would not go anywhere for a couple of weeks depending on the speed of the process.

To be honest, I can't imagine it would be cheap to do, by the time you pay for shipping both ways... it would probably be less expensive to just buy a new set that's already black chrome... unless you can find someone local.
The pic you posted looks good, if your local guy can do that with painting or powdercoating, jump on it. I think pretty much all of the black chrome is a tint coat over chrome anyway.

I've seen some auctions on eBay for a company that does this. The company is somewhere in Southern California. Sorry, I don't remember the name.
I've seen both the 18" 11+ GT and 2010 19" GT wheels up for auction. Given they are not bullitts, but it is possible.
They were charging about 1k for the wheels but you had to provide your existing wheels as core. I'm pretty sure the were requesting the core wheels to be the same style and without them the price was substantially higher.

Any place that can nickle-plate or electroplat can do it. Old school but effective. Was popular back in the mid 80's But, I think the finish on that treatment would require lots of polish and care since chips from rocks could lead to peeling and flaking.
I'll look in my old build notes and see if I have any references.
A quick search pulls up these guys...
