Default Setting the pinion angle

I installed a whiteline upper control arm last week and my car whines so loud. It used to only whine a little in 6th at 70mph. It's differential noise for sure but now with the new upper control arm it whines at like 30mph+ it drove me crazy and I was worries something was wrong so I re installed the stock one again and it's quiet .

I feel like my pinion angle was off or something. Has anyone been able to correct this noise? I'm pretty annoyed about it I hate the wheel hop and the UCA made my rear end feel stiffer.

I have the factory 3:73s and future suspension mods are white line lower control arms and relocation brackets. Whiteline swaybar a whiteline panhard bar and st performance coilovers

Any help is appreciated!

Im assuming that upper control arm is adjustable. for autos set pinion angle -1 to -2 for a starting point. For manuals -3 to -4 seems to be a good point to start im running -4 myself, with very little whine. Between the Upper control arm and the Strang Rear shocks I dont get any wheel hop anymore.

Or you can just measure the length of the stock UCA and set the new one to the same length.

Ok why would you want to put it at stock length? then why not just keep the stock one? Also the stock angle Ford puts these cars at Stinks IMO to Pos. Setting pinion angle is easy may have to adj. it few times to get it were you want it for your combination or as you change or mod your car but thats why adjustable parts are Nice.

Not an expert but I saw vid on one of the forms. The stock unit allows a lot of play - probably softer bushings??? Maybe you will need to make critical adjustments if you have changed the LCA's as well??

I'm sure ford sets it where they do for the least amount of vibration, not maximum traction.

Not necessarily. It depends on whether the angles slope upward or downward.

I'm not sure if their example at the bottom of this page is correct, but the method is. +1 - -3 = +4, right?

well mine actually seems to have to less whine and less vibration after resetting Pinion angle TBH. IF you go with BMR's Upper adjustable and bracket. Their bracket comes with 2 holes. Upper is 1/4 in. higher then stock. lower is 5/8 lower then stock. At stock ride height rec. lower hole. If your lowered go by their set up chart.
