I have a V6 but my manual states every 5K and it also uses synthetic. I find it odd they say 5K and then have an oil monitoring function that says the oil is still fine at 5K. Makes no sense to me.

Just as i expected when i dropped it off at the dealer today, service manager told me everyrthing was fine and the tick is normal. He also mentioned i was not the only one, he has seen many 2011+ mustangs coming in with the tick.
No, it is not normal, I don't care what they say. I had a Cadillac STS with the Northstar that used a quart of oil every 1K miles and GM always claimed it was within normal usage. But we all know that's BS. Ford is probably using the same logic.

A ticking engine says something is amiss.
