Question About Active Alarm
Another new owner question. The '06 I just bought has the active alarm system. I want to test it to make sure it works, but I couldn't find anything in the owners manual that said how to turn off the alarm once it goes off. It would be pretty embarrassing to have it going off in the garage and not know how to shut it down.
Thanks in advance.

Any factory alarm system I have had was disabled by either locking, unlocking, or hitting the panic button on the remote key fob, I dont know which one on your car but my first vote is the unlock button.

If you are talking about the vert in your pic then you likely read in the manual that the active part of the alarm is disabled if you top is down. You must have the top up for that part to work.
I guess it would likely see all kinds of movement and go off if active and top down.
Just have top up, arm it, and stick your arm through the window and to should activate.

Thats exactly what I did. The alarm would not go off until I was very close to the motion sensor above the interior mirror (an inch or so). And yes, hitting the unlock button turned off the alarm. Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity?

You could try cleaning it... I am not sure what type of sensor it is, and it is encased in plastic anyways, but maybe taking it out of the car and using windex or something else that is fairly mild could clean any dust and crap off of it.

Yeah maybe try to clean it. Mine goes at about the steering wheel
