the iPad's user interface is designed for a device you're supposed to stare at for long periods of time. It doesn't belong in a car's center stack, no matter how "happy" people are with their setups.
I dislike all of the cheapo aftermarket kits, but at lest the ipad route looks somewhat decent. To me, all of those aftermarket head units will cut your cars resale value.
That's why you save your oem headunit and swap it back in when you get rid of the car.

I agree completely. I am certainly not an Apple fan, but I think that's probably the lesser of the two evils.

so why is it designed to stare at it long periods of time ? i have android tablet when its playing music i don't stare at it at all. the maps have voice commands for turn by turn directions. This is just a cheaper and more attractive way of having a display in you vehicle when it did not come from the factory. you can even hook a back up camera to it. so saying it doesn't belong in cars center stack is just your opinion which you have a right to express but i think it is no different then having a car with navigation from the factory possible better since the tablet can do more then the factory system can. plus all the same features of the sync still work.
