Whipple oil change and sight glass too dark?
Has anyone changed the oil in their Whipple? I don't remember the manual mentioning an oil change interval. The sight glass on my Whipple is so dark I can't really see the oil level unless I shine a light into it. How do you clean the glass on the inside? Thanks!

Whipple suggests on their web site changing Compressor oil every 25,000-100,000 miles.
And, Found this 2007 CalSpec. A guy had the same question and called Whipple directly.
Whipple's response was:
"You can unscrew it (sight glass) to clean it. There is an o-ring seal behind it that is re-useable. You will need a 23mm socket and it will need to be ground or machined down to clear the cover."

So I got a 23mm socket and was about to work on the car when I realized there's no room for a socket and ratchet wrench. DOH! The coolant crossover is in the way. Maybe I can use an open end wrench on it instead. Might have to modify it. Sucks that Whipple didn't foresee something like this and make a special tool to remove the sight glass.
EDIT: There's actually no room to get an open end wrench in there either because of the ridge right above the sight glass. I guess I'll just live with a dirty sight glass.
