Default brake pads hooks broke off

hi guys, i just replace my front brake pads on a 2006 mustang gt. when i was changing them i ended up braking the hooks on the pads that i suppose holds on to the caliper. are they important because I test drove it an the pads seem to be working properly and not vibrating.

Those are antivibration clips. Not needed, mine broke off too. No worries.

The last few sets of track pads I bought didn't even come with them. They may also serve a pad retraction function for a small MPG benefit.

Default Which front pad hook goes WHERE?

Got a new set of front brake pads. 2 of the pads have no hooks on them. 2 of the pads have only 1 hook on the end. One hook in one end and the other hook on the other end. It seems that they could go on either side of the caliper and could be on the leading or trailing edge. Where is the proper place for the hooks? Outside or inside on the caliper and leading or trailing edge?

I would guess leading edge and inside.

EBC front pads are side specific, one goes outside, the other one inside. There's a pin that won't allow the inside one to fit on the outside. Don't know if other brands are the same.
