I'm looking at getting a 2012 5.0 6 speed manual but i jkeep hearing that some of the cars have shifting issues with the mt-82 transmission. Let me know if your having this issue and what you did to fix it!

I have zero problems with mine but I only got 2500 miles on the car. I'm anything but nice to this tranny though and it shifts like butter. I don't think the problems stem as widely as people think, it's all over the forums because a few here or there have problems and get on the forums and they vent about it every day (rightfully so).

17.5k miles no issues, I have an early build 2011 as well. People are blowing it way out of proportion, go ahead and order your car.

6500 miles on my 2012...only thing i've noticed is it vibrates when i let off the gas in gear sometimes

I bought a 2011 5.0 last October 2010. Had it in the shop around 2k miles for a smokey burning smell from engine. The Ford dealership ensured me that nothing was wrong. Only 4k miles on the car, it caught fire while I was driving it down the road. Over 10k in damages: Geico filed a suit with Ford and pushed it on Ford because it was caused by the battery power cable or some wiring harness that started the fire. Geico and dealership claimed it was definitely a warranty issue. Ford won't take any blame for anything or help me out. Geico is finally working on the car: 10k in damages, engine is out and dealership found more damage. It is just sitting, my lawyer already filed a suit 3 months ago. I have been without my car since February 25 2011.

I am not sure how else to fight this, but I am so dissatisfied with Ford General Counsel.

2012 with no issues, 2700 miles on the car. I do not like the shifter, it is not very smooth. I plan on replacing it with the MGW shifter.

You might think twice about that. I had a rough shifting 2008, replaced the shifter w/ the MGW, and although it went in to gear better with the MGW and it was a much better shifter...it was rougher than the factory one.

Also, Ford uses every excuse possible to deny warranty work (IOW...your transmission is shifting rough because of that MGW shifter you installed). Make sure everything is OK BEFORE modding it.

Ultimately, i just traded my 2008 on a 2010 Auto. I'm much happier with the automatic tranny.
