Stripes On! 2010GT
#27
I originally had silver stripes on my Stang. Mine were silver, not gray and even had some metallic sparkle to them. They were 3M Marine Grade vinyl, supposedly the most durable type from the most durable brand. After less than 12 months I had many little spots that looked like acid rain marks on the silver stripes. The sign shop that did mine replaced them for free under warranty (3M reimbursed the shop afterwards) and I decided to go with the white because the white is reportedly much more color durable than the silver. Silver is supposedly the worst as far as color fastness and the matte black is suppsedly the best followed by shiny black and then white. NONE of the vinyl stripes will stay as unblemished as a painted stripe, but while I would love to have my stripes in a pearl white paint, painted stripes just don't fit into my budget. If you have the cash, do the painted stripes and you'll be good to go just like the paint on the rest of the car.

Sorry just getting back to replying on this topic!! Have since tinted the windows to 20% and sanded and painted the rims black. Def looks a lot better will try to upload some new pics soon. Thank you all for the comments!!
As far as the stripes go, they are 10" stripes. I didn't get the kit from American Muscle or any other Mustang store. I personally didn't want to fool with the job. Definitely wanted them to be done by someone with experience. I went to a local shop in Asheboro, NC called Signs and Designs. To the best of my knowledge they use 3M vinyl. If you Google 3M vinyl photos you will run across a color chart. I used dark grey for my car.
I would def recommend going to a shop that does signage and vinyl graphics. It might cost a little more but the experience I have had with this product has been nothing less than awesome.
