Exclamation 2012 v6 mustang base center console swap?

Hello, I am in a bit of a predicament as I do not like how the base model mustang (mine 2012) does not have the ambient lighted cup holder. so I have gone out and purchased this http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-FORD-MUSTANG-CENTER-CONSOLE-WITH-LED-LIGHTED-CUP-HOLDER-299276-/321290042494?nma=true&si=0dSajAChDabIctqLqJH09Z4Ohws%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 and now i'm positive that it is not plug and play. So i'm thinking that I have two choices one being easier than the other but both requiring splicing. The first and harder idea ( not to different than hooking up illuminated door sills): Remove the center console then find on the ambient light connectors for your cup holders the color that you want (blue) and splice some speaker wire for negative and the positive and run that over to the lamp switch on the dash so that it will come on like factory when you turn your Parking lights on. Or the second option: Remove the center console then find on the ambient light connectors for your cup holders the color that you want (blue) and splice some speaker wire for negative and the positive and then connect it into a permanent power source like the wire for the 12v outlet in the arm rest.
So I anyone has any ideas that may help me on this trek, or if any of you have done this before please give some advice, however i'm not sure if this has been performed before.

I don't have a clue (but I'll give you another bump).

Maybe you can run the postive end to a fuse, and the ground to metal

I actually did this in my 2010 GT. I only swapped the cup holders though not the entire console. I just wired them into the harness for the trunk release, traction control, and hazard harness, just test the wires in that harness to figure out which one is illumination.

Thats a Brilliant idea I will try that and let you guys know how it goes. The main reason why i'm doing all this is because I bought a Base model but I really wanted a premuim model, but that was not possable at the time, but now it is but I have to buy all the parts then install them so far I have done:
Premuim steering wheel
Illuminated door sills
OEM Brushed aluminum dash
Planned:
Black Leather seats(Need to Order)
Illuminated Console (WIP)
Premuim Gauge Cluster(Need to Order)

EDIT:
So After looking at some diagrams for the center console the wire that powers the illumination for the buttons is purple
