chiltion or haines book
I have the haines book and it SUCKS. There is very little in there that can actually help you out. Example,Doesn't have afuse diagram for this car in that repair manual!!! Also, I tried to see why my cruise control wasn't working. Looked in the book......doesn't even tell you what fuse to look at!!! I just took the car to the local ford dealer who told me what was wrong for free. I haven't tried any other repair manuals so I really can't vote yet.
I have a chilton for 1993-1996 cars, I have never used it because my cars an 88[&:] But I would buy both because there are somethings in both that one or the other dose not cover
After owning both and seeing a service repair manual (Like what ford uses) i'd say neither. There was a link some time ago that had these manual available ($300+ for the entire car) but I can't remember the thread. Not to mention for basic stuff like TQ specs, capacities, and regular maintenance stuff, the cheapy manuals are fine.
