Default How Often Rotating 18" Pirellis? Handling Changing a Little

After an incredibly satisfying first 15,000 miles, my OEM Pirelli P235/50ZR18 97W handling characteristics are starting to change slightly at 18,000 miles (tires are a standard Ford upgrade with the Pony Package). They don't track quite as well, and take a little more attention not to wander. But nothing serious.

In reading reviews of these tires, some with somewhat similar experience say that to maintain the handling characteristics of this tire for the full tire's life, there are some suggestions to rotate every 5,000 miles instead of Pirelli's recommended 10K. I've been rotating about every 7K.

What has your experience been with this tire?

By the way, how many miles are these tires lasting you guys?

Rotated mine every 3000, I also got 36,000 miles out of mine.

I had to get new tires at 20,000 and I rotated them every other oil change.

I'm going to switch to Michelin Energy Saver A/S in the 18" V rated when I replace my tires in about 5k.

That's about my life on the same tires. My 08 originally came with BFG KDWS. When I needed to replace them they were about $200 a piece...for all season..? Pass... Went with Pirelli's AS. Good for about the first 5K, after about that, they got really squirrely under moderate and heavy acceleration. I would never recommend them for our cars.

Ended up going with Dunlop Direzza's DZ101 (Summer tire) Pretty good tire for only $160 a piece.

GTC I think you will be disappointed with Michelin Energy Saver A/S. Traction is going to be the #1 issue I think.

I would rotate any tire every 5k miles. 10k miles between rotations is ridiculous. Going that long will cause some cupping/chopping. Make sure you cross rotate as well (cross to the drive wheels).

^^^ +1. I work for a tire store and we rotate every oil change. btwn every 3000-5000 miles. I have been rotating mine every 5,000 which is every oil change. keep tires inflated properly and rotated and you will get the most out of your tires.

Oh and don't go burning rubber every red light helps as well haha.
