Spare Tire ??? Please respond.
I just purchased a used CPO 2012 Mustang for my daughter, after getting home I was looking in trunk area checking out where the spare tire is located etc... There was no spare tire but a small air compressor was located where tire should be.
My question is do Mustangs suppose to have spare tires??? I would think yes but this is my first experience with Mustangs.

ALL 2011-14 GT's w/o Brembo came with a spare tire.
ALL consumer 2011-12 V6 models got the "inflator kit" and no spare tire option available. 2011-12 V6 FLEET VEHICLES (rental companies, etc), had a spare tire OPTION.
Likely due to complaints, the spare became std. again on 2013-14 V6 (all but PP).
Also due to complaints, FORD came out with a over-the-counter "SPARE TIRE KIT" for 2011-12 V6 Mustangs sometime in the 2012 model year. Prior to this, all the parts in the kit needed to be ordered separately and cost well over $300 (in 2010).
Spare Tire Kit:
CR3Z-1K007-A ... $277.14 MSRP
Cheapest online I've seen is $203.70 + shipping (Ford dealer in MN)
I picked up my 2011 in May of 2010 and not having a spare was a concern for me too. Ended up finding a never-used 2008 GT spare and a complete 2005-09 jack kit on e-bay which was less than 1/2 the cost of new.
I kept the INFLATOR in my trunk as well and I've used it "roadside" already when the TPMS indicator came on and I found a slow-leak (nail) in one of my tires. Only was loosing a few lbs. a day, so I just limped along till the weekend when I had the time to get it fixed. TPMS definitely saved that tire, as it did not look low at all when the light came on (20-22 psi IIRC).
