Mustang Fastback Side Vent Drain Hose

Mustang Fastback Side Vent Drain Hose
While taking apart the interior of my 65 fastback I noticed that my vehicle was not equipped with the vent window drain hoses. I have beensearching forreplacements to no avail, until I ran across this ebay auction. Will these things last, or are there any other recommended sources to purchase these from?

Wow! I can not imagine someone putting the interior back together without those drain hoses.
They are just hoses and carry just water and are out of sight once the interior is installed. I imagine you could use some stock hose and some clamp. I just looked at my 68, and on it the top fitting is larger than the bottom. So, I imagine using a larger hose connected to a smaller one with an adapter. I am not talking from experience, so this is just an idea for a starting point.
In any event, you can not go without the hoses without risk of rustangism.

Yeah, we had this conversation some time ago. Those hoses you are considering buying are 40 years old. Think about it. Just go to Ace hardware and go to their hose section where they are wrapped around a tumbler. Get one about a foot long for the size of the first hookup, then get an adapter coupler and get the other hose longer to exit out the bottom. You and others will never know how smart you were to not put 40 year old rubber hoses back on your 40 year old car.

Soaring is right. You can even use PCV couplers (they will need to beslightly shaved to fit properly) found in the sprinkler section of your local hardware store.
Most vintage Mustands are missing these hoses, which is most unfortunate, because they are a very imporant part of rust defense.

Timelockmind, you beat me to the PVC, I though about making an adapter from a PVC adapter about an hour ago (while drinking a glass of wine), once again showing great minds run in the same rut.

Had a 2002 Mondavi Merlot with my T-bone. While it (the T-bone) was grilling, I put the starter back in my 65 that I pulled out yesterday to see if it could be done in five minutes. Putting it back in does not make good use of gravity.

Why would the hose even have to neck down? As far as I can tell, it just basically empties to the floor where it drains out the two holes, correct? FWIW, I don't have those hoses but did have the splash shields still properly in place and don't have a spot of rust in there. I think I'll just put a piece of PVC and wedge the bottom end of it into the hole in the floor.I'll save the $25 hose for those doing the concours type restos.

The upper part of the hose is flared out to fit the drain tube, about 1 inch od, the bottom goes thru a smaller hole to the outside, about 5/8 inch od, or something like that.
