Would the 1978 351 be able to replace the 302 #3.) Would it need to be changed to carb or would the fuel injection be ok to use #4.) How much trouble am i getting myself into????... please help...Thanks...

Actually...
How flattering...

*blush*

The year of the block won't cause any issues, other than affecting roller lifter selection.

The 5.0HO, A9* computers will handle a mild to moderate 351w with relative ease. A tune would be best, but in no way is it required.

Stock 302 or 351w heads will limit power, but do work fairly well if need be.

$150 is pretty decent.
Is it a complete long block?
What kind of shape is it in...

As you can tell, I think the swap is well worth the effort.
Feel free to post questions!

The block is almost complete. Missing upper intake and cam....but who cares...i prolly would just sell the intake anyway...planned on stroking it so would need new cam and heads and other misc. stuff as well. When the block had everything on it I went and looked at it and it turned over by had real smooth. but im going to get everything checked out on it by the michinest make sure no cracks and stuff. And i had planned on getting alum. heads too. When i get my mustang mags i always just want to see the 351 articles and look at the specs and if they run low 11's thats exactly want im going to do....just seems so hard to do everything right and i duno if im going to be able to get everything right where i dont screw somethin up and break stuff. i duno...how fast do you guys think it will do with doing all this to it?

If one was to swap in a 95 roller block, complete upper to pan (into an 86 Fox) what would be the best short term (=cheap) route to go with the MAF (have to convert from SD at the same time). Use a stock 5.0L MAF or the stock 5.8L MAF? I have read that an A9* EEC will work good enough for a while on a stock 5.8L engine.

TIA

an A9L or A9P will work fine with a 5.8L engine. the 5.8 MAF computers are junk from what Ive heard

Thanks....I'm trying to piece this swap together, it's harder to do w/o a 5.0 for parts.
