Default 351 vs 429BB

OK here's the deal
option one i could buy a 1989 coupe with a 351w for $900 making ~ 350hp


or i could buy a Fox body Roller, and put a 429 making 350hp stock and put a new cam intake carb and home port the head and make ~450hp and ~500ftlbs.....i could do that with $2140

short term BB is a drag long term project is a BB road racer.

I'd do a 351, if you wanna RR then the big block is gonna make an already front heavy car even front heavier

I'd have to agree with the weight issue..BB vs SBF....Also...a 351 strokedto a 408 will provide ample power...for any kind of racer..

LOL, adder it can happen, and when someone tells me it can, you tempt me to make it happen, but i dont have that much money right now. it wont see the RR track very often only 1-2 times a year.

I'm just no fan of Big Blocks for daily use at all....They are great for track only buta monumental pain in the *** for street use.

Just my opinion.

oh sure.. it CAN happen... but your going to be plowing through turns like FWD noob...

your gonna be adding over 150lbs if not MORE to the front of the car... The chassis will NOT be happy.

a well built 351w stroker (427w) will make just as much power, is lighter, and will have MUCH better street manners

i think if a viper can handle the turns well, the suspension can be upgraded so it could too, and i think it would be cool to plow through them like a bull and the hit the straight and leave. its for fun not to win.
