Default Benefits Of LCA/UCA

So what does putting on aftermarket LCA's and UCA's do? I heard that it can save a little bit of weight but anything else besides that?

A major area of weakness on the late model Mustangs (Fox , SN95 and S197 platforms) are the factory upper and lower control arms. The thin stamped steel arms offer little in the way of lateral stability, and combined with the large rubber bushings, the arms undergo considerable flexing. Under hard acceleration the stock arms and bushings sucumb to wheelspin and wheel hop.

its nto that wheel hop is just annoying, or makes your track times worse. wheelhop can shatter parts in the rear end of your car. i.e. axles, differential, r&p's

The soft bushings used in the stock uca and lca's help with vibration dampening drivetrain and road noise. See my posting

https://mustangforums.com/m_1716712/tm.htm

There is room for some significant improvment in handling by replaceing the lower control arms. I used tubular style, but maybe the aluminum forged solid style would not act as an acustic pipe to the body. like these sold by one of the sponsors http://www.stangsuspension.com/store...?idproduct=469

Somewhere I read that the upper contol arm is the guilty party for the gear and axle noise, and the lower control arms for the road noise. And that the choice of bushing material played a major role in the noise transmission into the body.

Good luck and have fun

Ya i can see just by the pics why upgrading at least the lca's would be good....I intend to keep going to the track to get better at racing and to test out different mods when i get them, but whether i went to the track or not you would still get a little benefit from them.
