Best tuner for mild use.
Hey all, I am selling my old tuner I had for my 4.6 ford V8. I am now looking for one to use with my mustang V6 ( 2006 ). I plan on getting an cold air intake, gt take off muffler, underdrive pully. What tuner would be good? I am looking at this DIABLOSPORT PREDATOR TUNER. From what I read I do not need to send in my ECM code? I am also lookign at this one SCT XCalibrator 2! will need to send in my ecm code. Any idea what tuner would be good for the mods I am going to do?
Thanks

RE: Best tuner for mild use.
If you are buying a used XCal, the user will have to download the stock tune. Then, he can sell it to you. SOME have said that you can then just use it, but I bought one used, and when I got it, the user had downloaded the stock tune, but it was locked to his car. SCT told me I had to send the tuner back in to them or an authorized SCT tuner.
Now, if you buy a new one, you do not have to send in your tune. You plug it into your OBD port, and it reads and locks to your car. Real easy.
I don't konw about Predators.

I have a Predator and single AT flowmaster. I bought it used, and it's a piece of cake. Plug it in, follow the directions on the screen, and voila'... instant ponies. I havent found a shop who will write me a custom tune if I buy a cai requiring one, so I can't vouch for the ease of that transition yet, but I think I am done with perf. mods for now anyway. Next for me is a stripe kit and blackout panel, and maybe some louvers, and maybe a pony grille. Oh and maybe some pony pkg wheels... and...
If you don't care about getting a custom tune, the used predator is a really good alternative in my opinion. You can always sell it again when you are ready to move to the sct/cai.
Oh, anyone know of shops writing tunes for cai's?
