Default Where is the drain plug of oil pan located?

Hi guys,

I want to change the oil of my 06 Mustang V6 this week (following TacoBill's how-to), so I decided to check the underneat of my car to see if I had the right wrench to unscrew the oil drain plug... but the only screw I saw seems to be pretty small (looks like 10-12 mm) so I'm unsure now!!
Would someone have a picture of the drain plug on the oil pan of a 05+ 4.0???

Thanks...

we have a how-to on oil changes? news to me!

yes the bolt is smaller, not like a 3/4" or anything big like that. if it goes into what looks like your oil pan, give 'er hell

If a black oily substance comes out, you'll know you've found it

But, if your transmission falls on you, you unbolted the wrong plug

Its towards the passenger side next to the cat converter. Its a little bit of a reach and a challenge not to get that oil on you lol

Its on the drivers side of the oil pan on my 07 V6.
Its a small headed washer/bolt with a o-ring under it.
I think I use a ?13mm? wrench when changing the oil.
Torque it to 19 Ft Lbs.

13mm bolt.

i know oil changes sound simple, because they are. but the last thing i would suggest is doing one if you arent sure, since it could cost you (i get cars in my shop often with blown engines from people doing their own oil change)
