Default FINALLY BLEW IT!!!

Well,

Last Monday, I got it running again with my new/used (never put on a car and I'm the 3rd owner!) Vortech V2 H.O. Kit.

I have several questions:

1. It came with a Diablo tuner for the tune and I have a Xcal2 from my C&L setup. So....do I get a canned tune online, or go to Detroit to get a custom tune, and on which tuner?

2. It runs pretty hard and fast, yet the blow off valve, a cheap plastic Bosch, seems to do it slightly prematurely for my auto....it's annoying. Can I replace it?

3. I think it's running on the too safe side of rich. My chrome GT muffler tips soot up real fast.

Oh and I blew the doors off of a few cars already!

Go get it dyno tuned before you try to blow any more doors off of other cars. Be thankful it's running rich, cuz if the tune isn't right for the FI you could pop the motor. Spend a few bucks and get it tuned right by a tuner who knows what they're doing. My 2cents.

And congrats on the new supercharger and installing it yourself!

Ditto on the tune. Consider yourself LUCKY you haven't blow it up.
And yes, you can use a different BPV. I use a GReddy 40mm one; much bigger than the puny little Bosch one that came with the kit.

Congrats on 'getting blown'!

Thanks guys!
I think the tune is fairly safe - just not optimal for my setup. It came with the Vortech kit on a Diablo. No pinging, no hesitation, no stalling, no overheating issues so far. I plan on getting a tune after I put on high flow cats or "test pipes."

Ha Ha! I had very poor tread before this run. The tires also had bad weather checking on the sidewalls. After this video post, I went straight to the tire store...No major burnouts for a while now .
