Default What gas mileage are you getting?

I get about 17.9mpg average and this seems low to me. I do have somewhat of a lead foot (the exhaust really sounds good after 3k rpms) but maybe its something else? In my dad's 500 when he changes the fuel filter he gains 3mpg. Could it be somthing like this thats causing my gas mileage to be this low? I do a mix of city and highway driving but I live in a rural area so its 45-55mph a lot of the time. What are you getting? Thanks, -David

Get ready for some inflated numbers - everyone wants to say they get amazing mpg.

Not really, I personally don't care much about my mpg, but according to my in dash readout, it says 19.8, but I have noticed that doing it by hand it reads .8 high, so I get right around 19 mpg in my GT. However, this is not city driving, it is a lot of cruising between 40 and 50mph. I also don't beat on my car much, so it helps.

Then how am I getting 17??? Ill reset it today while im on the highway going 65mph and see what my highway is. Most of the country roads here are 45mph so I go 45-55mph usually.

Wetwillie3 do you do lots of city driving or do you just have a heavy right foot?

That would explain it lol... My window sticker says 19-25 and you would have to be driving incredibly slow in the city to get 19mpg, almost coasting I would say

I'm generally around 21 on the dash readout.
17 mile drive to work, half of that is stop and go til I get out of town, then it's highway.
