Just Installed The New BBK Cold Air Intake...
I just installed the new BBK on my mustang tonight. Unfortunatley, they say that this is a NO TUNE intake. Well they lie. My check engine light is on. From what i read, the car needs to be tuned. Is this true? Please help me out guys

No tune required CAI's have been known to throw a CEL. But I suppose I should ask why you bothered with a stand-alone CAI. A stand-alone CAI is good for maybe 3-4 RWHP. A CAI & tune combo is good for ~15 RWHP or more on the V6.
BTW, the CEL is for running lean. That can eventually do damage to your engine. I'd return to the stock intake.

DO NOT let a mechanic tune it unless you have a handheld tuner AND he knows what he's doing. These aren't the cars of the 60 and 70's where you can tweak the distributor or the carb. You'll really frack up your ability to put a good CUSTOM tune on it in the future. You need to read through the forum stickies and threads about CAI & tune combos before you go screwing around and f**king up your car.
The CAI & tune combo is the biggest bang-for-the-buck RWHP adder unless you go FI. But unless you get a quality tune, you're asking for trouble. Check out the Brenspeed website. They're one of the premier tuners used by the forum members.

A simple question, but did you remove the negative battery cable at the time you installed the CAI? If you didn't, pulling the cable for about 10 min and then reconnecting it will allow the engine computer to "relearn" it's trims based on the new intake. Worth a shot if you haven't done it.
