Default How is this for an exhaust setup!???

So i'm going to be getting my exhaust for my mustang pretty soon, and instead of buying the catback, or axlebacks, i'm saving up for the FULL on setup..

This is what I have in mind, and should still be emissions legal as the headers are 50 state legal...

JBA Cat4ward Shorty Headers (05-10 V6)
JBA Catted Shorty H-Pipe (05-10 GT)
2 1/2 inch Piping to SLP Loudmouth Axle-Back Exhaust (05-10 GT, GT500)
NTK Performance Oxygen Sensor - Front (99-09 V6; 99-04 4.6L)
NTK Performance Oxygen Sensor - Front (94-95 5.0L) - Rear (95-09 V6; 94-04 4.6L)

My guess is I should see a horsepower increase of 20HP??

Also do you guys think this will sound good? Or should I swap out the SLP's for the MAC Boomtubes?

Headers do little to nothing for performance gain as well as dual exhaust in general unless you are FI.... The oxygen sensors won't give you any performance. Maybe a 5-10 rwhp gain?

So i'm better off leaving the stock headers? I feel like having the headers would give it that better sound and let the engine breathe more? I mean I figured I would get some torque and HP gains from this, and smoother throttle response. I plan on getting the JLT Intake and Tune from Bama and running a 91 Octane tune for daily use, and 93 for racing. Should I go Intake first then the exhaust second? I feel like intake along with this setup should top me out 35-40HP and an easy 25-30Lbs of torque?

The shorty midpipe is for longtube headers too, you want a regular midpipe not a short one.

Alright shorties will only net you a slight increase in HP/TQ, and the rest of the exhaust will pretty much not help with the numbers either. Realistically you will feel like you've lost a little lower end power (less back pressure) and gained some top end. I can't say for sure, but that setup (atleast on paper) seems like it will sound great. I don't know anything about oxygen sensors so I can't give you any feedback on those. As far as the intake goes, you will feel around a 20whp jump, which is very significant on a car with only 190whp to begin with. It will entirely make up for any slight loss on the low end resulting from your new exhaust and then some. Overall you are looking at maybe a 30whp increase over stock, with a nice even boost in power from 2K RPM to 6K RPM.

I'd also suggest that you, if you haven't already, try to dig up sound clips on youtube from people with similar exhaust setups. Also, just go for the 93 Race tune all the time. Trust me, the 91 will just be a waste of your time. You should get a 93 race, 89 performance, and 87 street because you will be using the 93 all the time (once you go 93, you don't go back) and the other 2 will be reserved for situations where 93 is not available.

Straight pipes with no mufflers sound so much better than the loudmouths.

No long tube headers are going to pass emissions in California.

JBA Shorty headers or any CARB approved shorty header only in California. Just start saving for the Vortech.

jba makes a complete stainless h pipe and muffler exhaust system for $750 for the V6. just keep your cats and get the jba shorties too. that would be a sweeet setup.

ive got cheap shorties, oem cats and the jba h pipe and mid/overaxle pipes and gt takeoffs and its pretty sweet too
