Default Hood paint bubbling what to do...

So I have 2005 v6 mustang and the front, underside and back of the hood
paint has started bubbling. Got some quotes on how much it would cost to repaint the hood just wondering what would be better replace and paint new
hood or get the oem one redone. So far the cost is around $980 for repaint
but iv'e read others on hear that say it will just keep coming back. let me know don't have to much to spend but what to keep it looking good.

$980 to repaint? WOW. At that rate you are better off going with another hood, aftermarket fiberglass.

$980 for painting a hood? That rape dude. What r they doing? Putting gold flakes in it? Find some one else I got mine done for $500 or a little less. Can't remember. And they had to take all the current paint off of it.

I have the same problem and just ordered the Cervinis 67 style ram air hood for my 05. 980 bucks is a lot of money to spend on a stock hood to have the same problem possibly come back somewhere down the road.

The whole hood has to be stripped and de-contaminated. Ford messed up at the factory when they dipped the hoods, the metal got contaminated somehow. Soooooo if it's not corrected properly, the bubbles will come back and the paint will flake off. I also had an 05 and this was an issue with mine as well.

My '06 is showing some bubbling at the front of the hood. I'm inclined to leave it until it gets severe. When it does, and it will, I think a little sandpaper and touchup paint will do fine.
