My alternator is starting to whine. So time to replace.
Did any of you go with just a regular Auto Zone (Or what ever part store in your area) alternator($219) or just go for a new Motorcraft ($289)? Is it worth it to just spend the extra on the Motorcraft?

I got an Autozone alternator when mine went out, been on there about 3 years

A lot of folks have had issues with their OE and rebuilt Motorcraft alternators. And, of course, others have had no issues. You might want to try a PA Performance alternator or take your chances with the others. Also, be sure your battery is load tested and in good condition. A weak battery will degrade these alternators and vice versa.

I went with the rebuilt from Autozone.
2 years and it's still okay.
Lifetime replacement warranty.
I won't be surprised if it craps out though.
