Default 2003 GT mod help

Howdy

What?? A GM logo? YES. I am not brand specific and love muscle cars. My wife traded her moded Grand Prix in for a 2003 GT vert. She (and I) are disappointed in the performance or lack there of with the 4.6L V8. Now she did choose to get the automatic (yuck!).

Love the car....needs to be faster. I do not know much aboutthe new mustang so I am looking for info. (I know..shoulda got a cobra.)

Is there s difference between the 2002 and the 2003? (looking at hooker headers and a new exhaust)

What are good heads?
Also thinking mild cam and a vortech supercharger.
Do I need to find someone to re-program the computer? (GM- I need someone to edit the car because the software is pretty expensive)

Information or good sites to visit will be appreciated.

Thank you

Thanks....There is plenty of good information on this board.

4.10's....hmmm I was looking into 3.73's. I may have to change my thought.

I have installed a bassani exhaust from the manifolds back. I was not sure about headers. What do you think?

I also installed a Level 10 shift kit. This was the first automatic that I played with (had help though). MAJOR improvement. Car is louder. I am not sure if the car feeling better is from the shift kit or the exhaust. Outside of the sound I am not sure how much more the exhaust gave me.

Still researching SC's. You mention Procharger, and others mention the vortech. (almost sounds like a ford vs chevy argument) Is there a good article that compares the pros and cons of both?

I don't know of any articles that compare superchargers, however, if you go to vortech's website, www.vortechsuperchargers.com their explaination of their products are quite impressive. They make superchargers for each specific car, rather than a universal supercharger that fits a lot of different cars. They also claim to get the most HP from their products. They also offer an aftercooler (im sure others do too) which can add even more power to your GT. Vortech also says that their products will also increase gas milage. Check out their site. Very impressive. Hope this helps you out.
