Opps, I did it again...
Well today, the usual... simple trip to walmart, for some reason I guess I was in a rush and wanted to see how fast I can get there. I banged into 3rd gear hard and I might have pushed the clutch in far enough, but my whole car shook and rumbled, the engine light came on, and I smelt clutch... bad... This has only happened once before but it was with my stock shifter and my engine light didn't come on. Nothin seems to be the problem but the engine light wont go off. I usually just unplugg the battery for a few minutes and let the comp reset itself but it continues this time. Anyone have an idea what I did before I explain to the guys at Ford that my warrenty no longer applies to me even though I still have 35,000 miles to go? Dangit I hope I didn't do any perminate damage.

Well never mind. Don't know what went on the last hour I left my car alone but the light is off now. Still think I did some damage to her. My baby is prob mad at me for stopping at the dealership the other day asking for a trade in value towards the new 05/06s.

Pretty odd.
I recall another member here, banging 3rd gear hard and the car bogged and a CEL came on, got home to scan it and it was off and wasn't stored. I'm also a victim of it in my 02 GT, I slammed 3rd really hard and my CEL came on and my car sputtered for a couple seconds. Drove it straight to a mechanic, went inside and came back out and the light was off and nothing was stored.

They quoted me 11,000 for trade in. Which was pretty genrous of them I think. She's got about 44,000 miles on her right now.
