Default K&N filter ?

I have a 2003 GT 5 speed.. bone stock so far and this morning i added a drop in k& n filter. I swear i feel a difference in the way the car responds. Am i just being hopeful? I was also wondering if there was a way to expand or remove that cone that goes down into the fender and if that would help increase the air flow and intake sound. Any thoughts would be welcome, Thanks

whats up man, you can remove the air silencer, i believe the way to do so is posted here somewhere, i will look for the link, and if you feel a difference, its probably in your head as the power increase is very minimal.
