hmmmm... I'm not really sure where else to look. Is it for sure coming from the engine?

at idle, it sounds like my engine, i have a pully going bad. mine sounds louder then yours, its been doing it for couple thousand miles. but you can def hear it under idle on your car.

i just havent had the time or motivation to get it looked at under warrenty.

so you started the car briefly w/o the belt?

Are you sure it is coming from the engine compartment and it's not echoing from the tranny are?

My pulley tensioner sounded similar for about a year until one day while doing around 100-105 MPH on the turnpike, IT SHATTERED. sending pieces of aluminum throughout my engine compartmenta dn through my radiator. A 35 dollar part cost me about 500 to fix after that happened. Not to mention I have to get it towed, wait till my radiator came in, and so on... Better to investigate it thoroughly now then end up like I did later on.....
