F/I on a high mileage car
okay, just done doing a little research. Im lookin at the Kenne Bell 1.7l supercharger. my question... I have about 100k miles on the clock. Is that a lil to high for the added HP? Or with a compresion test, low boost(6ps-8psi)i and tune would i be in the clear?
If this is in the wrong section, my appoligies.
Thanks

if your compression is good and yo udon't burn more than normal amounts of oil, if you take care of it and tune it right you should be fine. Why not S/C it now until the engine dies and then replace it? With a tune you should be grand

because if he spends the same amount a new engine he should be able to get about as much power as his engine supercharged.

But, you have the potential to make a lot more.

Thanks for the replies.I drive a 00' Gt btw.Well from the link i found for KB supercharges id be lookin at 106hp@6psi and 160@9psi at the crank, so Stock im 260,260+106=366/ 260+160=420...so unless i can find a 03/04 cobra motor for 5k. (which i doubt i will be able to) im havin a better chance with the KB..?allthough like you said Fryguy a new engine could have more potential. Especially a 03/04 cobra engine. BUt then theres, the swap, harness, tranny etc. to take in to consideration.
