I currently have a 99 GT and have had a 91 GT. Both have ended up needing clutches and both time I replaced the stock clutch with a Ford King Cobra clutch kit. I like the clutch and the price, PROBLEM IS, it is considered a performance part and carries no warranty, but it is cheaper than buying a Ford stock clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and pilot bearing. (Both of my GT's were stock engine wise)

Remember to have the flywheel turned regardless which clutch you choose.

I would have to completely agree. My 97 GT needed a number of things and while in there I did the clutch. Got the king cobra kit... very quality, no warranty tho, but it will take more of a beating than a stock clutch. DEFINITELY turn the flywheel... if you don't, the clutch will chatter and it will last not long at all.

The only time you'll need more clutch is if you have major engine mods or forced induction

Get a king cobra, and have the install place resurface your flywheel.

haha good one. That is usually how it goes with me. However, when I did mine it was still 20 degrees out. So my loving sister let me use her garage!

I really liked my old mcleod entry level clutch for a DD car that was N/A.

Spec all the way for a performance clutch though.
