Default Forged shortblock assembly

Code/whoever else acutally has one, why did ya choose who you did? How much was shipping.

I am going for a interview tomarrow, and if I get the job I have a ton of cash coming to me (backpay check for raise at current work, 2 weeks vacation and 2 weeks personal time cashed instead of used). I am thinking that suspension and brakes would be nice, but a shortblock would be even nicer on a street car.

I want 550+ with the ablity to go to at least 650 if I port the heads and replace the intake later on. What do you suggest.

Wow I am not paying 8500 bucks.

I am thinking more along the lines of 2500-3500 bucks. If I have to spend 8500 bucks on a shortblock I'm buying a LS1.

And I don't think I am going with a 5.4L assembly. I have seen plenty of 4.6L cars making the numbers I want.
