to each his own, but a wise man once told me that if your gonna spend your own money on something thats used, more than likely the guy's sellin it for a reason. but I dont know your situation and how familiar you are with cars. the question isnt how long they last yet it is how much do you know about cars because these motors are easy as hell to work on and you dont have to have special tools to do it. If I was you and I'm gonna buy a car I wouldnt burn my warchest on the vehicle, Id put some money aside for problems. which means you gotta lower your standards a little. Or you could buy a used taxi cab because they got high miles but they are well maintained and you can be sure of it

I've had my valve covers off... everything looks great inside...

no oily exhaust tips, only a tiny amount of carbon which I would expect anyway...

it's just boggling it guzzles oil but gives no signs of it [&:][&:][&:]

my buddy has a 99 Automatic GT he bought off his father. It has 102,000 miles and he just got it within the last 5k miles and races it etc and just had the spark plugs replaced and all the matinence done, his dad never had the tranny flushed, plugs changed, and changed the oil like every 10k miles (should be done every 3k miles) basically the car was treated like crap. Still runs strong
